June Update

Greetings from your Scale Up Milwaukee team!

This is our second email to you (click here for first). We are now organizing our very first activities!

We have our second Google Hangout with our fearless leader, Dan Isenberg  and other SUMKE team members to discuss, “What does Scale Up Entrepreneur mean?” today (Friday, June 28) at 2:00 pm CT and we encourage you to tune in through our Google+ page. Robert Pothier founder of Hapacus and Art Mellor CEO of Zero Locus will be joining us for the discussion. Please tweet this to your followers!

As we move SUMKE forward, you are an essential part of the dialogue. One of the first meetings was video-viewed here – and our first Hangout with Don Layden and Matt Cordio is here. Engaging the entrepreneurial community is essential to this process!

Upcoming Scale Up Milwaukee Events:

Case Teaching and Writing Workshop for Faculty
July 15, 2013 | Location TBD

This free workshop is designed exclusively for entrepreneurship faculty at higher education institutions, MBA and advanced BA programs, who use teaching cases (HBS-style) or are planning on teaching case-based classes in MBA or related programs. Dan Isenberg will teach this unique workshop: Dan has taught for 11 years at Harvard Business School and has published over 25 HBS entrepreneurship cases one of which is used to teach all incoming HBS students how to read and discuss cases. One of Dan’s videos is used to teach incoming HBS faculty the art of case teaching, so this is an opportunity. The workshop will consist of a case discussion, an analysis of the discussion and use and structure of the case, and a detailed description of case writing and case teaching do’s and donts. Even if you are teaching cases and do not have current plans to write any, this workshop will be of use to you.

If you think this is for you and wish to participate, please contact Michael Hostad.

Further in the future we are planning:

  • an advanced “scalerator” program for entrepreneurs with sales revenues and the drive and ambition to grow
  • a series of specialized short seminars for professional services, media and other groups
  • additional Hangouts on various topics related to growth and scale of entrepreneurial ventures.

Would you like to participate in a future Hangout?
